About Rick Callaway

October 6, 2019

The Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi

About Rick Callaway

Our new Interim Associate Rector, the Rev. Canon Richard (Rick) H. Callaway, will serve as celebrant at all three services on Sunday, Oct. 6, as he begins his part-time (three days/week) tenure. Welcome him as also shares alongside our rector during a clergy forum in Gable Hall at 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Callaway is committed to serving through to the time we call a permanent Associate Rector, which we anticipate in late spring or early summer. As former Canon to the Ordinary in this diocese, and having served as Rector in a number of parishes, Rick brings a depth and breadth of experience to St. Martin’s, as well as his genuine pastoral presence and good sense of humor.

A little about Canon Callaway:

He has been a priest in the Episcopal Church for 34 years, and retired in 2014 as Diocese of Atlanta Bishop’s Canon to the Ordinary – Bishop’s assistant and Chief Operating Officer, a post held since 2001. Before diocesan appointment, he served as Rector, Vicar, or Assistant in three parishes in two dioceses.
